Caipirinha from page 127 of How to Cocktail by America's Test Kitchen for the 52 Weeks of Cocktails challenge.
This week's theme is Caipirinhas. Caipirinhas are a traditional Brazilian cocktail made with Cachaça, muddled limes, and simple syrup.
This is the first time I have tried Cachaça. It is similar to rum but is made exclusively in Brazil from Brazilian-grown sugarcane. According to my research, it has a, grassy, vegetal, funky, earthy taste but I found it to be sweet, tasting almost like baked goods.
This drink was very refreshing on a warm summer evening. It seemed much stronger than most cocktails I make requiring it to be slowly sipped.
