52 Week Dessert Challenge, Week 3: Birthday Dessert
Three of my kids, my brother, and my dad all have birthdays in January.
We all get together for a big January Birthdays celebration.
This week I sampled a few recipes for the party
which is a good thing because neither were well received!
Date-Nut Pudding Cake with Vanilla Sauce was the better of the two recipes.
I liked it but when dessert time on day two rolled around
my kids opted for cereal and my husband asked for no sauce.
Despite being a Cooking Light recipe and having 322 calories per serving
this recipes has 13 Weight Watchers Smart Points!
The other recipe I made was Chocolate Pudding Cake.
This is an older Cooking Light recipe from the January 2004 issue.
This recipe was EXTREMELY sweet.
It makes 8 servings and calls for 2 1/2 cups of sugar!
Each serving has 351 calories but since there is SO MUCH SUGAR
one piece is 19 Weight Watchers Smart Points!
Next week I am going to check on the Weight Watchers Smart Points value
before I decide what to make! It will be a lemon dessert
and my goal is to make something under 10 points.
