I just discovered a new (to me) blog called Project 64: Out of the Box. Each week a random crayon is chosen from a 64 count box of Crayola Crayons. That color is used as inspiration for the week, the challenge is to find and photograph the weekly color in the world around us.
Sounds simple, right? WRONG!! This week's color is indigo, a blue-ish color with a hint of purple. I looked all over for this color, only to find it in my own neighborhood--it is the color of street signs and other markers where I live. Not only is indigo hard to find, it is also hard to photograph. The color looks more like a bright blue in my pictures. No amount of adjusting seemed to correct the color to make it true-to-life.
